Help

I am a third-year student at a nontarget state school trying to break into IB.  I had a SD at a regional boutique in a lower-tier city and recently discovered I did not move forward.  However, I am starting a remote spring analyst position at a small bank this upcoming semester.  Assuming 99% of IB summer analyst spots have already been filled, what is the next best scenario for me?

I plan to find some sort of relevant finance internship for this summer and then re-recruit for full-time, but I do not know what kinds of internships to target that are not in IB if this is my goal.  Does anyone have any advice for me in this situation?
