Help! Cap Market Audit or Corporate Finance?
I need advice! I've always worked towards getting into a big development org, like the World Bank, IFC, etc. I currently work as an auditor (CPA) at a mid market accounting firm and have been offered a job as a capital markets auditor at a large and reputable investment bank. I thought this was a good move as it would give me a lot of exposure to capital markets and the varying products and area. My firm, however, has offered me a transfer to their corporate finance division. The benefit of this would be the chance to gain exposure to financial modeling. I'm just wondering what you think would be the best move given where I want to end up?
This is a tough choice, but I'm tempted to say stay at your firm and transfer to the corporate finance division. I have heard of a few people who've worked at the Big 4 and ended up at World Bank. Also, as a capital market auditor, I don't know how much exposure you'll have to financial modeling, and it sounds like you'll be doing the same thing just under a different setting.

Thanks. I guess my only concern was that the firm I would be going to do Corporate Finance is at a mid-market firm without the brand name as the bank with the cap market audit job. It is in London, England though so it maybe the international experience would make up for it
