Help with first-round?

Hey all,

So I got a first-round ib interview scheduled for this week over the phone. It's a BB that I worked for during the summer of my freshman year in PWM (the office was local), and it's going to be 15-20 minutes with a mix of fit and tech.

I know for sure that I'm going to be asked a lot of specific questions about the firm, since I worked at it before, and last summer, I worked at a regional boutique, so I'm guessing they'll be prone to asking a lot of technicals. My question is, how should I prepare for these specific fits? Will the distribution between fit and technical be different if that's the case?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. I'm a junior right now at uni (semi-target), and since this is the first over the phone, I'm crazy nervous. Also, if you happen to have any general tips on preparation (other than using the WSO guide, etc.), I would love to learn from all of you.

Thanks again

Keep your cool. Over the phone can be intimidating, especially your first one, but do what makes you comfortable. I know people who've done phone interviews in a suit, in their underwear, or just as they would normally dress. Know as much about the company as possible, especially the IB and PWM divisions. I doubt there would be more than one technical question since this is a 1st round. Ask good questions. Those tend to stick with whoever is on the other end of the line. Go kill it.
