Here's how my discussion with the director of research went.

We spoke briefly over the phone but he had to run as he had a meeting coming up. He asked me questions about my story and said that I had a good story. I asked him questions about whether or not he sees himself in buyside (he does eventually). The conversation got a little awkward as I think he ran out of questions to ask me.

However, I asked him what he would do in my position. He replied that he'll put my CV on the desk of HR and say that "this kid really knows what he wants to do and is really interested in sell-side ER and has demonstrated that he is capable."

I then asked if he'll be interested in grabbing coffee sometime - he said "yes, but let's talk about that over email" (this guy was really pressed for time.) He was really laid back and he said that I asked some pretty good questions.

I'm really hoping that this pulls through, I've been getting a lot of traction with this particular bank (MM). Hopefully this turns into an interview / offer.

What do you guys think? Would love to hear you guys' opinion on this convo
