honest mistake on my resume now background check
Hi all, I received an SA offer at a BB but I did a mistake on my resume at the moment of the application (did a 1-month internship in July 2016 and wrote I did the 1-month internship in July 2018).Now the company asks me to update my profile on its own website to process with the onboarding and ahead of background check. Should I correct the info dates now on my updated profile and on the incoming background check or should I write exactly the same dates as on the resume i applied with to avoid attracting attention?
If they are asking you to update your information on their portal, it normally means to put information that is up to date, as of now. I would correct it tbh.
also, is there a section where you upload your resume? I would correct the document and upload it also.
the information relevant to your application is what you put into the system. Unless the entire thing is fake, which it isn't, of course.
Hi, thanks a lot for your answer! I am also tempted to correct the info. The only thing is that I don’t have access to the section where I can re upload my resume so I am scared changing the info in the system and not on the resume could be a problem if they flag it…
Contact them and tell them there is a tiny typo on your resume and that you'd like to revise that also. They can unlock this section for you and this shouldn't be a big deal.
