How do I land IB as a Class of 2025? (Incoming 2nd Year Student)

Hello,

I just finished my first year at a semi-target here in Canada. I have seen postings for Summer 2023 IB already up for the Big 5/6. I am looking to land IB for my Second Year internship which is in Summer 2023 or really any strong finance-related role I can leverage for Third Year (Summer 2024) IB opportunities in Canada / US.

The problem is that the majority of the postings say something along the lines of: "Students must be graduating in December 2023 or June 2024". The earliest I would graduate is in 2025. What are my options and will they overlook me if I still apply?

Additionally, I have been trying to network as much as possible with alumni from my university on Linkedin that work in IB roles, but I am not getting any responses. Some of them have accepted my request and not responded, while others have even looked at my profile, yet still didn't respond. If anyone has any networking advice to land a Second Year summer role, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for all any help that can be provided.
