How do you apply if you go to a non target?

Hello,

The title says it all. I go to a non target in Canada. I will graduate in may from a masters in financial economics with a 3.97 gpa and industry experience and I am looking for an S&T gig for next year. A friend of mine who goes to a target keeps me up to date with the job postings at his university so I know the schedule. However some banks to do not allow applications directly from their website.

I have been looking up the HR people in charge of graduate recruiting at the different institutions and plan to email them my application directly.

I have two questions:
- Does this have a chance of working or will it be considered too intrusive?
- Have some of you faced a similar problem and how did you overcome it?

Cheers

I would go to recruiting events for bigger schools and blend in and distribute my business cards among BBs MDs and VPs. It actually worked. Emailing/calling is good if you have a connection with a person like same school, organization, fraternity.

Not creepy at all... You guys really need to cool it with these strategies. Just like the dude saying he's waiting for hedge fund managers outside their buildings...

Just show up at their house bro. Smoke cigarettes on their steps until they get home.
