How Much Follow-up is Too Much

I've been networking for the remaining SA25 roles that still haven't filled spots yet, and recently made some really good headway at this specific firm. So far, I've talked to a good number of people from the specific group I want, and made some great connections, including a referral to the hiring manager.

One of the ASOs I spoke with said he would put me in touch with his MD, and had me send my resume so he could forward it. I followed up with him 2 weeks ago about still speaking with the MD, and he said that he hadn't heard anything back on his end. Since it's been 2 weeks and I haven't heard anything since, would it be too much to follow back up? I know I sound like a bot, but I don't want to annoy him by pestering. Also added stress since I've heard that interviews are coming out relatively soon, and this MD apparently talks to all kids who end up getting 1st rounds.
