How much referrals matter for BBs?
I’m very curious to know how much referrals matter for BBs.
I know two MDs from BBs and so far I have had pretty good track record of internship and education. I want to reach out to them and see where it can take me. Worth a shot?

It's always worth a shot but don't get your hopes too high. I've seen many candidates with referrals getting dinged throughout the process so don't treat it like a free pass. Also, don't know what your relationship is with these people but be careful on how you go about asking.

Statistically, how likely is it to get an AC without a referral?
You can't possibly quantify that...
I got my AC invite without referral and know others in that AC also didn't have one but it's all relative.
It can get you fast tracked to an AC, but from there its up to you.
During the application season 2021/22, I got a referral from an ED at JPM and got sent straight to AC.
That’s all I need 🙏🏽 but I’m thinking to be referred for lateral 1st year analyst or full-time role
Would it make a larger impact on Spring/Summer applications?

Depends on the rep of the referrer.
my first FT job in coverage was helped w a ED from the M&A team who had an amazing rep w my group head.
also have a relative whose a partner at another bank and I couldn’t even get a first round
Thought london got rid of referrals
Depends on the quality of the referral, if the guy/girl actually likes and knows you they can push a lot in the review session (if they also do the interviews), especially useful when it comes down to a maybe and yes.
Bullshit. Never had any referral and got plenty of interviews including at BBs in London (same for my friends).. Quite surprised reading this
