How should I prepare for a lateral?

Recently started at a big four deal advisory based in the capital city of a european francophone country. My ambition encourages me to make a lateral move to middle market banks in London around the one year mark. (Won't even dream about BBs at this point)I did some research on my department, and found that actually a few have done so in the past 2 years, either to IB or equity research.Since the ACA qualification is not a thing here, as they prefer the CFA. What are some preparations, besides networking and technicals, that I could work on to improve my chances of a lateral?Cheers,

>capital city of a european francophone country

just say Brussels bro, there's literally only two possible options from the phrase "capital city of a european francophone country" and if it isn't Paris... tbh though I'm sure most Americans saw this and started thinking it could've also been a city in Italy or Germany because, well you know, Americans
