How to explain no return

Recruiting FT after no return at buyside at various firms and have had many interviews but getting dinged when they ask about return offer.

I say something to the nature of- “unfortunately I didn’t and although I did not receive any feedback as to why (which is true) looking back I realized xyz etc.

Is this how I should do it, or go more bullshity like cultural fit etc?
