How to make my cold emails compelling?

Hey all, first year analyst looking to lateral sometime in the next year-ish. I've been working on networking and use a relatively generic cold email format like most of us do. I do okay at getting responses but have a hard time getting people from EB's/BB's to respond to me. I'm wondering if you all have any tips as to how I can make my cold emails more compelling. I come from a small liberal arts school and currently work at a very small boutique so I can't leverage my alumni network or bank brand name. Thanks and I look forward to hearing your advice.
