How To Stand Out At Career Night
Hi Everyone,
I'm a former DI athlete from a non-target who recently got into the Merrill Lynch career night. I've had a corporate finance job for barely a month and no real other finance experience outside of my major, and I was wondering what advice everyone had for standing out, deal with my lack of experience, what to bring besides resume (i.e. senior project), personal experiences with career nights, or just any advice regarding Merrill Lynch and their hiring process. Really want to capitalize on this, so any time taken is appreciated.
Hi CPBDTen, any of these topics helpful:
Or maybe the following WSO members have something to say: @christian.chauvet12" @usa_westcoast7384" Nawz
If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...
Is this a networking event? These are often not super helpful, but try to talk to 3-4 people and have memorable conversations. A quick google says this is for a financial advisor program (correct me if I’m wrong) so have an idea of what’s involved with that as well.
I would not bring your senior project, resume and a notebook would be fine, but have good, thoughtful questions. If you connect with anyone get their card and shoot them an email later on with a follow up or ask to meet over coffee.
