How to tell if a bank deals with IB...??
I sometimes find websites that I believe to be investment banks or deals with IBing but I'm not 100%.
How can I tell if a bank deals with investment banking or not? What are key words to look out for?

Key words to look out for: investment banking.
In all seriousness, look out for words like mergers & acquisitions, advisory, capital markets etc. (as well as actually looking out for investment banking)
I do, I do! But what I'm concerned about is the "etc" part.
For example, with that website I posted, under Finance then Other - it has "Equity financed". Then I'm stuck wondering...could that be part of IB? Should I call these guys??
Typically if the website doesn't show tombstones of recent transactions, don't expect them to get great deal flow - if any at all.
I've heard stories of people going in for an interview at an "investment bank" only to find out it was really a hedge fund trying to get around the advertising restrictions. If they do M&A, you'll know.
I'm still confused...but ok I'll try and figure this out with a little more research on the companies.
It looks like this: http://www.greenhill.com/index.php?option=com_selectedtransactions&Item…
I appreciate you taking the time to help me but, at the risk of sounding ungrateful, I have NEVER seen one of those...I've seen about 50-70 IB websites so far and I've never seen that, but I will keep an eye out for from now on.
Did you guys learn all your knowledge about IB through on the job training after you were hired or in school or where? Did you go into your interviews with extensive knowledge on the subject or just in finance in general?
