HSBC 2016 Hiring Freeze affecting graduate jobs?
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-01-31…
"HSBC Holdings Plc will impose a hiring and pay freeze this year as part of its drive to cut as much as $5 billion in costs by the end of 2017."
Does anyone know if this will this affect incoming graduates for 2016/ ongoing interview processes? Cheers
No comments? I currently got an oral offer and right now quite anxious everyday since the line manager told me they are waiting for the final headcount decision. Anyone close to the matter can give some insight? Cheers
If im not mistaken, i think it will only be a freeze on the investment banking divisions and retail banking
Thx. Can you indicate your source of info? Do you judge from the bloomberg news: "The measures, which affect the consumer and investment banking businesses"?
exactly, however i can find out more in the near future and will update this forum. i have a close family relative who is an executive for HSBC asian pacific. As per your initial post, i too have heard from my source a couple of weeks ago that they are in the process of a head count
DID YOU GET THE OFFER? im in the same situation. waiting on final approval
I'd probably start to look somewhere else.
