I got an internship at a bank in Treasury, will this hurt my chances for IB?

Unfortunately, the only internship I could land this summer was one in Treasury at the second biggest bank in my country. Last summer, as a first-year, I managed to land one in asset management, but recruiting for IB didn't go as well as I wanted to this year.

I think I might be put on the treasury trading desk, but I'm not so sure. Will this internship hurt me, as it could be seen as MO?

Neither this nor the asset management one will hurt but also won’t help much either.
Your final internship with full time placement potential will matter a lot more

If possible, the more corporate treasury type roles I would have thought would be better for IB than being on a “treasury trading desk”, whatever that means
