I want to go into IB but everyone is telling me it's stupid

I'm a STEM Major, CS/Statistics to be specific at a top ivy. I'm in my sophomore year and have applied to hundreds of internships in IB, CB, HF and Prop Trading. So far, I've been getting some good interviews and one offer for trading shops and some more quantitative roles at HF, and getting zero traction in IB/CB. The offer I got is for trading at a small firm that pays traders very well and hours that aren't too bad. However, my network is all IB kids and I am really interested in at least trying out IB after college and seeing if I can handle it/if I enjoy it, and I honestly think I would, at least the prestige of it lmao.

Everyone tells me that quant/trading is so much better than IB, but I wonder why then can't I get a role in IB? I've cold emailed >30 boutiques and applied to many programs but it seems my major/background is limiting me. Has anyone made the transition from trading -> IB?
