I suggest you network into adjacent areas that may not be your dream also because it could be as ugly as FT 2023. Hope I am wrong. Good luck!
Any advice on how to identify good matches without experience in that area? For example, if someone is doing a SA position in project finance and loves working in that group, what other adjacent areas would be worth FT recruiting for just in case a return offer doesn’t pan out?
Thinking about last year, I am not sure if SA who didn't get return offers got FT offers in another group at that company. I think it is more likely to FT in a similar group somewhere else. Networking on outside while an intern should be easy with alum or even randoms in project finance elsewhere. Then you can ask them what else is similar to consider.
