IB SA Timeline?

I have been seeing that IB SA positions are able to be applied for now at multiple banks. I am currently a sophomore and just starting my first internship for 2022 summer soon. I feel like my resume isn't ready yet for these 2023 IB SA positions. Should I be applying early? Are there benefits to applying to these positions early vs. later in the summer? I am fairly new to IB recruiting. Any help would be appreciated.

OP, you aren't late but you do have to have urgency throughout the whole application process. Don't forego applying now because you want a better resume. Apply immediately to everything that's open and send at least 10 networking emails to each place you apply to. Do it with urgency and you'll still be ok.
