IB Summer 2024 Status/Gameplan?
Hey! Hope all's well!
I'm applying to US and Canadian based IB (mainly) and PEs. Due to family obligations (parent got treatment and I traveled with and supported), I only started applying 1.5 weeks ago.
By now I've surely hit 70-75 job postings.
My profile is:
Top university in Canada (accounting major) - 3.90/4.00 GPA - graduating in 1.5y.
Big 4 work experience and full time offer received
Really strong ECs in politics, cancer advocacy
I recently got home from abroad with my parent, and will be starting to study the 400 Q package and a few other things I received.
Am I late to recruiting? How hard should I study? What should I expect over the coming weeks?

Pretty late for big names, BBs and EBs are wrapping up recruiting now. There are a few MMs that are yet to open applications, and DB is reopening in August. It depends on how strong your network is, how you perform on sd, so keep shooting for it. Better late than never.

At this point don’t bet all your hopes in IB bc it’s nearly done, don’t expect any calls as well. Keep your options open - consulting, fp&a, etc. all are great places to start your career

I applied there but recently got a rejection
CapitalOne has niche industry investment banks like Kipps and TripleTree and their apps don’t open until July. However, if you’re not interested in Aerospace & Defense or Healthcare, I probably wouldn’t recommend recruiting there
Unfortunately I think it’s late as many banks have finished making their classes, but there are still many recruiting! I would say look at also non banking roles like valuation and opinions, es, and more and rerecruit ft. I think there’s going to be a huge wave for ft recruiting
What alternate paths to you recommend me taking?
Tbh I'm driven, and more than anything, feel like I'm capable of so much more than simply audit.
