Importance of Situational Judgement Tests
Hi everyone,
I wonder how much influence the outcome of SJT has on online applications for FT IB roles. I consistently score well above other participants in Numerical Reasoning and Deductive Reasoning (Some Banks give you a summary of the test results straightaway) but I "fail" the retarded Chat-box format Situational Judgement Test. What I mean by fail is that it says that I am not the right fit in the test report. I am never selected to proceed onto an actual interview despite showcasing above average capabilities. I find this system flawed. A smart person could simply learn how to behave and fit into company culture after 1-2 hours of introduction when the job starts.
Question: Can someone fail in the application solely because of SJT?
Btw, I have PE internship and Ivy on my resume.
Thank you
Yes you can fail solely because of the SJT. It is meant as a filter.
Thank you for your response. How do you even train for SJT tests? Every firm has different expectations and culture. Is there a golden rule to follow?
Never have, they're easy to me. At most I read the company values to get an idea of what they look for but most companies have very similar values. Clients first, integrity, quality work product, collaboration etc.
