INDIANA VS SUNY
I got accepted by Indiana University and Suny Geneseo. I know none of these are consider as target school for investment banking, but IU will definitely give me a higher chance of breaking in. However, I am an out-of-state student for IU and that will cost A LOT OF money for me to go there. On the other hand, I will receive scholarships and financial aid for Geneseo. I am just wondering if it is worth it to take loans and attend IU, or should I just attend Geneseo and network my ass off.
Better chance at Bing than Geneseo. Tbh better going to Baruch than geneseo or bing. It's still early in the game and you'll get more acceptances. Reevaluate 2 months from now. - Fellow H.S senior with similar dilemma, pm if you have any other questions
I don't know anything about SUNYs, but IU Kelley is a top 10 business school in the country. I don't know about how competitive it is to get in, but you will definitely be in a good spot if you get in. I have randomly come across quite a few IU grads in IB in NY without seeking them out, so I imagine there are a bunch out there.

what kind of question is that I would pick Indiana over a few Ivy's for banking and youre comparing it to SUNY, whats wrong with you.

IU by far. They have good placement into Moelis/Laz, and upper BBs will take a couple of kids as well. It would be a banner year if SUNY Geneseo placed a single kid into upper BBs or EB

Your first choice should be Kelley. Then probably Kelley, followed by Kelley.

can you apply for something in between?! I mean I don't know how many offer rolling admissions, $100k is a sh*t ton. IU is really a strange choice if you're in state for NY, and if you're that good, why Not Stonybrook for bottom, or Baruch for a cheap transfer later?
100K maybe not then. I got my undergrad and MBA for a little under 60 and it still sucks paying that off. Might be worth it to look at some good private schools as they tend to give out better aid packages. Have you looked at Bucknell? Also someone mentioned Binghamton. Thats not a bad spot either.
Everyone gets into Indiana. I applied to IU with a 3.0 and 23 act score. It's the problem of getting into Kelly. I am also from New York I personally say go to Baruch and network there.
Sounds like a terrible reason to go to a subpar school.
