Infrastructure/Power PE

I’m an engineer in a boutique consulting firm. We do technical due diligence for renewables project finance. I’ve led engagements on ~10 transactions and am pretty well versed in the business. How can I lateral into infrastructure/power PE? Most recruiters don’t even want to talk without a banking background.
