They aren't going to review apps until May. I have been in contact with the recruiter

Hmm interesting. This is for 2023 Full Time? They said there are no supers till late August/Sept

when did you apply? has the status of your app changed in "smart recruiters"? no hirevue on my end

Does anyone know when we are supposed to hear back about the next steps?

Has anyone heard back about a first round interview (after the Hirevue) yet? Or does anyone know around what time the interview invites will go out?

Aug 2nd was last day for first round interviews, got moved forward to final round and interviewing in a week. This is for DGS but I’m sure it’s the same for sourcing.

I think it’s a bit lower than the sourcing analyst, probably around 150 all in as it is a DD role.

DGS is a DD/consulting role - they do the same work that MBB's Private Equity Due Diligence Groups do. That's why the entire team is ex MBB. The investment team is a true buyside role, which typically pays higher and is more prestigious, and is usually filled with ex IB/VC/GE, etc (not consultants).

For example, it is the difference between KKR PE vs KKR Capstone, Vista PE vs Vista Consulting Group, General Atlantic Investment Team vs Operating Analyst Team (investor vs operator). It is somewhat difficult to switch from operator to investor, but can be done. Regarding comp, I don't know for Insight DGS vs Investment Team specifically, but I do know for the above teams I mentioned (KKR, Vista, GE and others), the consulting teams make lower all-in than the investment teams. However, it could be different at Insight.

The DGS role is an excellent role out of undergrad. Just keep in mind that it sets you up for a career as an operator, not investor, (it may be possible to switch but better to do it early on, gets harder as you move up) and the work is pretty much the exact same as MBB CDD's/PEG, so if that's what you enjoy, then go for that. I wouldn't worry about comp between the two Insight teams, pick based on your career goals and the type of work you want.

Also, pay isn't based on if the operations work is as vital as the sourcing work (which I agree it is) - it's the nature of the industry that investment deal teams generally make more than consultants/operators. That's just the way it is.

Friend of mine got an offer for 2023 FT class and said it should be pretty much filled by now. HR also informed me that they were no longer reviewing applications that were submitted past the last weekish. Not sure if they're still looking to hire though. Got a HireVue today.

Did everyone applying for FT 2023 get the coffee chat and info session invite today?
