Internship-less Summer Coping Activities
Hey guys, so unfortunately due to a cancellation of a planned internship it seems I am in a position without an internship for the summer. I am an incoming second year (of a 3-year uni) which makes things slightly better, but it still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth after having planned out a summer with one. Therefore, I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions as to how I could best utilize this summer not only for personal development and the incoming application season prep, but also for resume-patting. I know in tech people tend to do "personal projects" which they can slap on their CV, but are there any equivalents for finance which would put me at an advantage in any way for upcoming summer apps?
My immediate plan (other than the obvious application prepping) was to work on my modeling, excel, and powerpoint skills through random research reports on companies as well as work on my language skills (currently have B1 level German) so it can open up more opportunities in the future. However, while these will no-doubt be beneficial for my self-development, they are not things which I feel will justify or fill the gap on my CV for the summer. With that in mind, what would you guys suggest?
