Internship trap

Hi community, The market for starting positions is quite though. Only very limited firms, almost none, are hiring analyst directly. Almost all firms only hire through internship and even than the positions are very limited. Currently the market is extremely in favour of hiring woman (not necessarily saying this is bad), making it quite hard for men to land a spot as there are only very limited spot available and the competition among men is simply way greater. I’ve seen a loting people (mainly men now a days) get lost in the internship trap. Which is that they go though about 1+ years of internship before landing an offer at a not so prestigious firm. I’m a male and have two good IB internships under my name, ~ half year of internships. The second one being quite prestigious in the country where I’m from. I’ve realised that IB wasn’t it for me because of the WLB. I’m thinking of moving to PE or strategy consulting. Only I don’t want to end up in that intern trap as I described earlier. And the feeling of being an intern is just shit, it only increases the pressure and somewhat reduces the fun of the work as it’s easy for people to just give you the shitty work and you always feel one level below every one. -My work is decent quality but not the best out there (but I’ve seen people get an offer with worse) -I’m a social, average looking guy but I’m quite boring/shy guy actually, no frat stuff or any thing, without many connections in this corporate world, making it sometimes hard to land an offer as frat people are really dominant here and them having somewhat of an instant connection In that sense I believe I’m not so ‘special’ which makes it hard for me to get an offer as there are quite a lot of guys like me. Im curious if this people in this community have any experience with this situation and maybe have some tips for me. Thanks!
