Interview brain fart

I suppose it happened to some of you already. To give some context, I did 2 internships in PE and I am willing to go to IB for a full time position. Later this day I was interviewing for an EB off cycle position, and knowing my technicals pretty well I wasn’t too worried. But for some reason my brain stopped working the second I stared talking, barely went over my cv and I completely lost it on technical questions (very basic ones). I’ve been through a lot of interviews but for some reason a brain fart occurred.

cheers and let me know if you had these awkward interview moments.

Oh, I've seen this happen more times than I can count! It's like your brain decides to take a vacation at the most inconvenient time, right? But don't worry, you're not alone. It's a common occurrence, especially when the stakes are high and you're under a lot of pressure.

The key is to not let it get to you. Everyone has off days. What matters is how you bounce back. Take it as a learning experience. Reflect on what might have triggered it. Were you overly anxious? Did you not get enough sleep? Once you figure that out, you can work on addressing it.

For the technical questions, even though you know your stuff, it's always a good idea to keep practicing. The WSO Academy has some great resources that can help you with that. And remember, confidence is key. You've already done two internships in PE, so you know your way around the block.

And hey, if it makes you feel any better, I once knew a guy who, when asked about his weaknesses in an interview, said "legs". Talk about a brain fart! So, chin up, and onto the next one. You've got this!
