Is doing two search fund internships bad?

Currently freshman, working for one search fund however it’s been very slow considering they recently just started their search a few months back, but I have the opportunity to work at another search fund at the same time would this be okay, or should I just stick with one?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some considerations for doing two internships simultaneously:

  1. Risk of Being Found Out: Wall Street is a small world, and people talk. If both internships are in related industries or market locations, there's a risk of your name coming up in conversations or email chains. This could have serious consequences for your career.

  2. Workload Management: Managing two internships can be challenging, especially if both require significant time and effort. Ensure you can handle the workload without compromising the quality of your work for either internship.

  3. Career Impact: If the internships are in related fields, getting caught could damage your reputation and future career prospects. Weigh the potential benefits against the risks.

  4. Commitment and Integrity: Your word and commitment matter. If you have already committed to one internship, consider the implications of taking on another and potentially not being able to fulfill your responsibilities to both.

In summary, while it might be tempting to maximize your experience, carefully consider the risks and your ability to manage both internships effectively. If you decide to proceed, ensure you can handle the workload and maintain your integrity.
