is it even possible to pivot in?

Hi all - currently completing a MSc in Economics from a top school - opted for MSc as an opposed to MBA bc wanted to keep PhD door open and MBA sounded boring but idk. I'm now not so sure about the PhD and have previous experience in data science in start ups in energy.

I'm curious if its even possible to pivot into finance (ill take anything but investing, portfolio management in renewables most likely) or if its a complete L and I should just try and continue on in research. be nice but realistic.

BA in mathematics (3.5)

previous experience in data analytics/data science in renewables.
