Is it possible to be economist of SEA country without PhD?
I am an economics graduate (US univ) from a SEA country who is very interested in working for the govt/world bank type jobs (as econ adviser) in the end of my career. I don't plan on taking a PhD and is starting from the private sector (banking/consulting)
Is it possible without a PhD? What skillsets should I develop and what route in the private sector would best prepare me for my dream goal?
(Sorry I know its a longshot, but I'm determined)

Hard without a PhD. Governments want the most educated people running their economies. Imagine if Jerome Powell only had a BA. There’s be no credibility.
funny enough because he has a JD and not a phd lol
