Is LinkedIn grade GPA or class year?

On LinkedIn, in the education section and under your school there is a grade option. I see people either put their class year (grade:freshman) or put their GPA (grade: 4.0). What’s the correct use of it? I think it’s GPA because the years you’re at the school is directly above but idk.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, the "grade" section on LinkedIn is typically used to display your GPA, especially if it's strong and you're within the first five years out of school. While some people might use it to indicate their class year (e.g., freshman, sophomore), this is less common and can be redundant since the years you attended the school are already listed above. If your GPA is good, it's a great opportunity to showcase it in that section.
