Is making the jump now worth it?

Currently a credit analyst at regional bank ($10-$20bn in assets) for almost two years. Pay is under $70k + ~8% bonus this year. This was my first job out of college and I’ve gotten a good amount of experience, and I enjoy my team but I’m now looking for some different opportunities.

Few reasons I want to leave: - I was tasked with quarterly spreads, analysis, underwriting etc. but I was never tasked with modeling so experience in that is limited even though I’ve asked for more exposure.

• path to promotion is very unclear, despite very good annual review.

• job insecurity because of layoffs, however I’m the only analyst on my team and my superiors have made it clear to group head that I was needed.

• more responsibilities given to me as a result of team cut in half. I’m always glad to put in the work, never refused an assignment for my team or to temporarily help other teams but no recognition in terms of pay raises, promotions, etc.

I’m currently interviewing for two jobs. I understand that I’m still interviewing and have not secured any offers yet so this is just hypothetical. I’m asking now just because by companies have emphasized that they were trying to hire quickly and assuming each round goes well, I’d have to submit my 2 weeks notice sooner than I think.

One is at a fintech series A startup, as a DCM analyst. Pay = $80-$100k + up to 100% bonus and fully remote. I would be reporting directly to the head of the team and closely working with them. Currently in 2nd round. I completed a case study which I have to go over with them in a follow up interview.

The other is with City National Bank ($100-200bn). Pay = $31-$50/hr (not negotiated yet and no clear bonus amount). I would be doing basically the same thing as my current job but a more clear path to growth. Waiting to hear back on recruiter but he confirmed forwarding my resume to hiring manager.

Am I making a mistake here even trying to leave? Does the jump to broaden my experience and increase pay make sense at this point in the long run?

I enjoy doing commercial/corporate banking but also curious to see how other areas of finance are.
