Is sophomore year too early to start coffee chatting?

I know sophomore year is a bit premature to be cold emailing/coffee chatting and my response rate will likely be low, but I go to a top target with very loyal alumni (Exeter/Andover) and I'm targeting very competitive roles that will likely have an equally determined applicant pool. I'm considering reaching out to current IPs at BX/KKR/APO for roles straight out of undergrad and/or on-cycle, as it's never too early to start cultivating strong relationships. I think I can put BB/EB on the back burner for the time being as I don't want to miss the forest for the trees, given that BB/EB is much less competitive than the aforementioned BX/KKR/APO.

Please let me know what I should do, I don't want to come off as a snotty over-eager kid in my cold emails.

sophomore year in HIGH SCHOOL?  I went to Andover and I don't think anyone was thinking of networking when they were 15yo.

senior year in high school...many years ago I would say that's insane but given now that recruiting has moved up to middle of sophomore year, having all of freshman year at university to network is a huge advantage.

...or did I just get trolled?

I'm not sure what you mean, I just want to get some insight before I potentially burn some bridges with alumni by coming off as a hardo with no personality straight off the bat.
