Is VC to CB division (JPM) to IB feasible?
Started off sort of backwards with a VC analyst job at a boutique firm Junior year, then after 10 months took a job at JPMC in CB (ass. Banker) but want to try to shift to IB at JPMC from a non-target state school to then exit and go back into VC/PE at big name.
Is this at all feasible or even best course of action? Probably worth noting that my city doesn’t have an IB division so haven’t been able to network with anyone helpful in that aspect. Open to any recommendations.
Seems like VC is an exit opp for some bankers, while you did the opposite.
Would certainly be better than having no finance experience, but I’d imagine that hiring staff would be wary.
Definitely wouldn’t say it’s impossible though and 100% worth a shot
