Job Offer Rescinded (Tech Holding Company) - After I submitted notice

Same as the title.

Just heard 10 minutes ago that my job offer was rescinded at a tech holding company (long-tail investor) - they didn't really give a reason, but I'm assuming the real reason is the election. For reference, previously did some (very hard) case studies, model tests, etc. for these folks / interviewed / etc.

Not sure where to go from here as I'd already resigned at my last job last week. I'm a couple years post banking (lower-BB) / did a few months at a (failing) PE firm and left to Tech (<1 Yr).

Would appreciate any advice on messaging / etc. as I imagine a potential employer would look at my story with a hard eye / disbelief and not sure how to address.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think that would help me - (plus the recruiter who called me up apologized profusely and said she'd get me on other processes - don't want to burn that bridge, even if she was BS'ing).

Terrible luck, sorry that you're going through this.

On future interviews, I would advise you just tell the truth about your situation. We recently interviewed a candidate who had a hedge fund offer fall through after he left his private equity job, he was upfront and honest about it and we did not question it further. You didn't do anything wrong so you have nothing to hide.

Not much else to add here unfortunately - wish you the best of luck.

Thank you - appreciate the answer.

Will be 100% candid about it then - my only worry is that since I'm still using the recruiting firm who set me up with the previous opportunity (I've used them since banking / gotten to final rounds with a couple MF PE firms through them, so they trust me.) They may not appreciate me discussing too much - is there anything you suggest I not mention?

Just want to make sure I don't burn that bridge in the process (obv. not going to call them out / disparage but still want to be careful).
