Job struggle for Eastern European

Hi, guys. I need an advice, and will be glad to hear opinions from industry professionals and HR managers. I'm an experienced cross-asset portfolio maanger with 7 years on markets. Half year ago my company (based in EU) closed its business. Since that time I'm struggling to get new job. There's no problem in my professional background - I have practical skills in electronic trading and successful managing of big portfolio, using different asset classes: from vanillas to exotics. I know 4 languages and strong desire to join new team.

However, here appears the problem. When HR managers see my name and place of residence, I'm always "out of short list". With some of them (including HRs from investment banks) I had productive phone conversations until the moment they realize that I have no EU or US passport. Is it really big problem? As I know, work permission requires some paper work, however costs not much. Sometimes it seems that HR managers do not fully understand how global this industry is, and that it's much more important to get appropriate person for certain position, instead of "do it the easier and faster way".

I'll be grateful for any advices, how to "peirce the wall", maybe some names or advices towards the multinational companies, opened for the persons from any locations. It's very important for me. Thanks in advance for any opinions, feel free to express your view on situation.

P.S. For those who are not familiar with case, there's no hedge funds in the Eastern Europe, and almost abcense of big investment banks' local branch offices. So there's no "local" solution of problem, only global.
