Jobs similar to consulting - strategic planning, etc?

Hey everyone, I'm a sophomore who's interested in consulting, either management or financial services. I'm going to recruit for Big 4 consulting, but I haven't found many alternative internships that seem comparable. I really like the analytical, dynamic nature of consulting where you solve a bunch of problems with a steep learning curve, but I'm put off by things like IB that are grueling work weeks and hyper competitive, burnout environments (I know consulting is similar, but I think I could handle consulting but not IB). Does anyone have any advice on where to look/research for similar types of internship positions, at reputable firms? I'm studying Econ, Math, and Data Science, so I have a fairly versatile background. Thanks!

"hockeylife1036" While consulting firms take students from broad backgrounds, banking is a very, very solid choice for your internship if trying to position for FT consulting. If feasible, that would personally be my recommendation for you junior summer.

Outside of IB / investing roles, the next best thing is probably F500 internships in corp strategy, FP&A, product management, product marketing, data analytics. Start-up roles are also good if you can craft the right interview narrative about the experience you got. The rung below that would be public sector (i.e. capital hill) and non-profits. Breaking in from these backgrounds is still feasible but probably requires more networking and honing of your story

For what it's worth, I'm at T2 consulting now and I interned at F100
