Lateralling to a better bank: SA to FT
I'm a class of 2026 student at a target school that placed pretty poorly for my SA 2025 role. I've got a MM IB spot in the Midwest and want to lateral to an EB/BB in NYC for FT. I started reading a ton about finance after recruiting (too late, I know) and am certain that I can go up to bat with some of the top banks if recruit intelligently. Would love to get advice on what I should be doing leading up to this summer, during the internship, and shortly after to land a better role.
