Layoff Appeal to HR

Curious to hear if anyone has ever appealed a layoff if they think they were a victim wrongly termination. Given the climate and so many banks laying off people for random reasons curious to hear thoughts if people have been able to negotiate higher severance, get their bonus what was deserved or if extreme cases if they were discriminated at the job been able to get the decision reversed. Understand people can negotiate with banks and not accept severance. Understand banks have an appeal process so curious to hear what the community thinks and if people can share their experiences.

You can’t appeal anything once you’re fired. You’re not going back to that company for at least a year if you want to apply again if there’s an opening. What you can do is negotiate your severance or sue. Believe me once they’ve fired you you’ve been fired months before hand. They’ve discussed it at the round table, seniors chosen who they want to keep and not keep.

Hence why it says layoff. Also at times decision is purely made from HR and seniors are not aware. Wrongful termination also means if you were ranked unfairly in the first place.
