learning the technicals..

Are there any good training services or guides out there that people recommend for university students looking to get a head start? Basically anything that teaches financial modelling and key concepts that will help in the interviews and in an internship. I already have a gold membership for vault and am planning to buy the guides...how about services like Training the Street, Wall Street Prep or The Analyst Exchange? Anyone recommend either of these of these or anything else.

hi, im currently a junior without a finance bg. im currently going through dealmaven and the vault guides, and they have helped be out a lot. while i think both give you enough information for the non-finance bg interviews, they are probably 101 guides for finance majors.

A lot of technical questions I was asked went beyond the vault guide. Know a DCF inside and out, and have a good understanding of its sensitivities. E.x. accuracy of projections (think about what affects this), terminal growth rate, etc. Understanding how an LBO works is also important. What are the characteristics of a target and how would a basic model look? This was for summer recruiting.
