Leaving IB too early for Secondaries PE a mistake?
Title sums it up. Incoming intern at a MM (Piper, WB, HW), where I’m not sure how good my exits will be. I’ve seen on LI past interns exit into solid roles for FT. Would it be a mistake to recruit for secondary PE roles FT, vs sticking with IB and trying for a direct PE role later on?
I find the GP-led work interesting, but I’m worried about limiting myself in the long-term, if direct PE could be in the cards. I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but if I plan on re-recruiting FT, I want to get a jump start on networking now…
