Is it a good idea to add a job to linkedin which begins a month later??? I start in June.

This is what a majority of the summer analysts in my network are doing. The rest have yet to announce it on LinkedIn. LinkedIn doesn't let you input a future starting date...I tried :(
Does LinkedIn even allow you to put future dates for a start date on the job update section?
No, put you could put incoming whatever and then update the date when it actually starts. I don't think its something necessary to seek advice for on a forum though, could be wrong..

I don't think half the stuff people ask on here need to be asked on a public forum.
Some people put incoming summer analyst, etc.
My profile says incoming summer analyst, then in June I will change it.
thank you guys! I just keep getting these stupid messages from companies which are looking for sales people on Linkedin. I just updated my profile to include my new job!
If you think that's going to stop... good luck! I took my resume off of every site that I ever put mine up on and I still get emails and calls on a daily basis. If they would do a quick google of me, they would find out that I don't even live in their state and wouldn't move there for their shitty sales job.
Yeah linkedin doesnt allow you to do that but thats why I changed my start date to May so I could add it. Once I start working I will update it to June!
