Honestly, you should probably hire a Social Media Consultant for these sorts of questions1, a bunch of random college sophomores aren't going to be able to help you with this. What I will say is that we unfortunately rescinded a candidate's offer this summer for not having a Summary written in his profile; so be sure to write something substantive.

If that is true that is so messed up. Most people I know in the industry don't even have a linkedin, or at most just say their coverage area and thats it. Privacy is to be admired, not shunned.

Best I could advise is to search for people in the roles you'd like to be in, and use that as inspiration. Please don't plagiarize. People often look up content on their profiles to see if others have copied them. It's frowned upon and an employer you're interviewing at could do the same check.
How would I go about writing my summary? Any investment banking specific examples?
Do not write a summary. Makes you look desperate. The people I see with long summaries are those seeking employment or struggling to sustain their small business.
Just look through those of your connections. Choose one with a similar job in the industry who you respect and has a good summary, and model your after his.

This. It's not unusual to pay $3,000-4,000 for this service (totally worth it on NPV basis).

No summary -lil B
How about people post the best summaries they've seen on Linkedin instead. Just to get some good inspiration ;)
