Looking for FT Recruiting Advice
Looking for advice on the upcoming FT recruiting for IBD of BB/MM/boutiques, especially as to how I can make myself stand out.
Currently am going to be a senior at a non-target school with an alright GPA (3.44 ish) because of a lack of focus freshman year. However, I have spent a large amount of time building my networking and successfully landed a SA position at a MM PE firm through connections with a partner at the firm. I have other non-finance related work experience as well as connections willing to put me in touch with recruiters at BB and other IB opportunities.
Is my GPA a deal-breaker? and does my PE experience make up for my lack of finance related jobs before hand?
Any information on timetable of application?
If anyone has a similar situation or just any advice on the process overall, it would be great to hear your thoughts.
I went through FT recruiting and it seemed that most processes started in August-Septemeber, have your contacts send over your resume to the recruiters by the end of July. I don't think GPA is a deal breaker as your have relevant experience and if you have contacts that can refer you should get interviews. Good Luck
