Major

How much does your major matter? I see a lot of people majoring in very hard subjects and then I see people with just an Econ degree with a relatively higher GPA doing better at recruiting. So I guess my question is- does it make more sense to have a high GPA with a single major (say Econ) or do a double with something like Math or CS or DS etc and have a lower GPA. Obviously i’m guessing best case would be to have a high GPA with a hard subject but it’s harder.
