MBB Continental Europe -> PE

Hi all,

Been reading in the shadows for some time, but now made my mind up to ask for some advice! But first, thank you all very much for the insights and info you share, it's super valuable.

Background: ~2 years MBB in home country (Western Europe)

Ultimate goal: Local MF office / Local Upper MM in home country

Pontential move: I've done 4-5 recruiting processes in home country, but got dinged from all. Although feedback was generally good and I made it to final round twice, there seems to be always this IB/PE guy with more experience who simply suited better the position.

Therefore I was considering temporarily moving to LDN (for no more than 2-3 years due to personal reasons) to later easily come back to MF / upper MM in home country. Although I know that breaking into PE in LDN is not easy, it seems less complicated, at least if I lower prestige expectations (MM space is much broader than in home country).

So, I would like to ask for advice on: - Would this move significantly increase my chances of breaking into PE in home country, or the risk of ending up "trapped" in LDN after 2-3 years would be high? - Would I return as VP or again Associate? (Relevant as it would be 2 years MBB + 2 years Associate LDN + 2 years Associate home country... maybe too much) - How complex would it be to interview from LDN? (mainly logistics, i.e. can you easily call in sick days? are LDN PEs generally flexible for flying home for the weekend on a Thursday?)

Thank you guys!
