MF PE on cycle chances with slightly lower GPA?
Incoming analyst at a top IBD group (think GS TMT / MS M&A / PJT RSSG). Stem double major at a target school. I slacked off the past couple semesters and my GPA is going to end up between 3.85-3.90 and not above 3.90. I am very interested in MF PE (BX, APO, KKR, etc.) and my group historically has had strong placement to such places. I am wondering what the cut-off is at top megafunds and if my GPA will preclude me given I have a tougher major, strong test scores, strong group, and good school.
I understand that this comes off as neurotic and is not a big deal in the bigger picture so apologies in advance.
Yea you can’t make it with a below 3.91 GPA. I would save time and go for LMM instead
Above 3.8 with strong test scores should negate any concerns a recruiter/fund would have - that GPA won't preclude you from anything.
Sorry to break it to you but you’re screwed man. Start submitting applications for McDonalds and Burger King cause that’s what’s in the cards now
You will be more than fine
This question is so ridiculous you lose your MF spot for even asking it
I was expecting 3.5/3.6 as "slightly lower" not 3.85, go touch grass brother
