Don't know about Morgan Stanley New York, but they told us at Morgan Stanley Hong Kong that we won't be notified until towards the end of September. Spoke with officers and they all said that the offer rate is going to be south of 50%. The reason they're holding out until later is to see whether the markets start to pick up again - they don't want to overhire and have to rescind offers.

Not trying to hijack your thread, but are most banks waiting till mid-end of Sept to give out offers? I know some BBs and MMs have told, but sounds like some are waiting.

My bank is waiting till early/mid Sept, which is kinda of frustrating given that I have already started other interviews, with these banks pushing to know when I will know.

We will definitely hear something this week, as this is the 3 week deadline.

I knew we would not hear anything today because of Labor Day, but tomorrow...maybe I suspect between Wed and Friday, as HR may be getting back into the groove of things tomorrow, Tuesday.

This wait is honestly ridiculous though. I do not understand what is taking so long.

Deutsche Bank hasn't let people know either.

Are these banks just screwing with people at this point? They identified the people they want back like two weeks into the summer, so I don't understand why they're holding out...

My sentiments exactly...it seriously takes 3 weeks to figure out who you want?

I'm sure they knew who they did and did not want during the last 2-3 weeks of work....christ...

2nd Post:

Hey,

I heard from a few Morgan Stanley SAs that they got calls from Morgan Stanley earlier this week/last week, that the decision was going to take a few more weeks to make, because there were still some "unknown moving pieces."

Anyone heard about this? This is honestly f-ing ridiculous? A few more weeks? Unbelievable...

Props.

I attend one of the two or three most highly-recruited Ivies, and this email was sent by MS through career services earlier this week:

"Thank you for your interest in Morgan Stanley and applying to the IBD and GCM Full-time Analyst programs in New York. Unfortunately Morgan Stanley will not be interviewing on-campus for these two positions but Morgan Stanley encourages you to apply online at www.morganstanley.com/careers in the event hiring needs change.

If you have any questions, please contact [], []@morganstanley.com

Sincerely, Morgan Stanley Campus Recruiting

I know for certain that at least some offers were made on Friday afternoon. That said, given time frame I would not be surprised if they were not able to finish that process before the start of the weekend. If you still haven't heard anything by the end of today or tomorrow, I would contact HR to ask for an up/down decision because it would appear that they've already made up their minds by now.
