Moving to NYC from other country to work in CF

Hey all, hoping to get some thoughts, would be even better if I could hear from people who went through something similar but all thoughts are welcome.

I've spent roughly 20 years of my life outside the US and I'd like to come back. I have a track record working in corporate finance and valuations, and given my nonamerican background I'm under the assumption that I would face less discrimination in NYC, given how multicultural it is. 

So currently I would like to make that move to NYC, coming from Brazil.

I've done something similar in the past. Previously the only other place I've been able to live is Spain. So when I was in my 20s I was able to do a master's in Spain and find work there. I lived roughly 3 years in Spain before seeing there wasn't a future there and coming back to Brazil.

I have a solid track recording working with infrastructure assets (energy, transporation, and social infrastructure), doing feasibility studies, valuation, working on acquisitions, auditing financial models and other responsibilities.

I would like to hear from someone who lives in NYC on how difficult is the job market there right now, and hopefully if they could give their take about moving from a different country.

I would also like to leave an observation before the comments: before I moved to Spain I heard from a lot of people how "impossible" it would be, how I wouldn't find a job, etc. But in the end I was able to live ~3 years there working in my field. Spain is a country famous for its high level of unemployment, so I would understand hearing about how difficult it would be moving to NYC, but I wouldn't understand it as being "impossible".

If anyone needs more information to understand better the situation, I'd be more than happy to give more information.
