My first offer

I just finished up my freshman year of college with 3 IB superdays lined up. I just did my first one yesterday and got a call last night telling me i got the offer. My official letter came in this afternoon and everything feels so unreal. 6 months ago I didn’t even know what investment banking was, I just knew I wanted to help ppl and I had some really influential mentors that made me aware of opportunities in finance. In February I started putting everything I had into learning more about the industry, technical prep, and networking. I feel like I’m gonna wake up any minute, I feel like I’m gonna cry tears of joy (no homo). I did NOT expect this in my wildest dreams with how hard everyone told me this was.

Hard work pays off! Cringe move but I had framed my first ever offer letter on my wall.

I remember one of my early networking calls I said I was interested in IB, the person asked me which division I was interested in, I didn't even know the diff division just reiterated I wanted to work in IB lol.

Tbh that’s not too cringe. I might do the same LMAO. Thank you!

Also, I use Robinhood pretty frequently and read the official compliance stuff in my offer letter. Does this mean I can’t use brokerage accounts anymore or that they need to be monitored? I’d rlly like some clarity on this!

LMAO in an advisory sense. Like providing ppl with insight to help them make strategic decisions ie creating models/ powerpoints for clients to see potential strategies.

How citi? Did you already get accepted to the Freshman Discovery day?
